Approximately 30 years ago, Richard Brooker, the company founder and Biscount’s original creator needed software to help him better manage his Outdoor Power Equipment business. An extensive review of the products available left him feeling underwhelmed and disappointed, as he could not find a suitable solution that was easy to use, suitable for his business nor reasonably priced. Rather than continuing to manage his business through spreadsheets and a mix of products, he began writing a software solution for himself. Within a short time the product was demonstrated to like-minded individuals within the industry and was quickly convinced to devote his time to further developing the software fulltime. Business owners loved the ease-of-use of the software and how it was written from their perspective. In the following years, by focusing on his customers and integrations with industry manufacturers and suppliers, and with the help of a business partner, Peter Lowe, the software became a unique product that delivered more than competitor packages. The company continued to grow and evolve through this period, expanding into the Motorcycle, Marine and Agricultural Industries to become Australia’s premier Dealer Management System. In 2019, Peter Lowe purchased the business and assumed the owner’s mantle outright. In a short time Peter has put a fantastic team together and the company is moving forward at breakneck speed. It is an exciting time here at Biscount and with our continued development our customers will be the biggest beneficiaries. We develop, promote and support the best Business Management Software for retail businesses within the Outdoor Power Equipment, Motorcycle, Marine and Agriculture Industries.
